We’re Qloud Games, an Australian-based indie studio with remote team members hailing from around the world. We’re developing Loftia, and our growing studio is scaling up and now looking for an Art Director with a strong 3D art background to lead our art team.
Loftia is a cozy take on the MMO genre, where players farm, build, and contribute to the growth of a sustainable, solarpunk world. The game mixes the chill, relaxing atmosphere of existing titles such as Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing, with the social aspects of a massively multiplayer game. Our vision is to provide a space where players can discover a sense of belonging, work together with others in the community to build and grow a sustainable world, and inspire hope for the future.
If you’re excited by the prospect of building shared worlds loved by massive audiences, and creating a charming and aesthetic cozy world that warms the hearts of its players, then we would absolutely love to hear from you!
As Art Director, you will:
work together with the game director, project leads and artists in order to bring the cozy world of Loftia to life
collaborate with stakeholders to define and refine the artistic direction and vision, and ensure that these standards are upheld in the production process
contribute to the planning and creation of the project roadmap, with respect to the art department’s development and milestones
guide the art team with strong leadership, offering both managerial support and mentorship
define and oversee the art production pipeline, encompassing all stages from initial concept development through to 3D modelling and texturing, rigging and animation, set dressing, visual effects, and optimization
play a hands-on role in the creation of art assets, in collaboration with the artists on the team
be responsible for final delivery in accordance with the project’s artistic direction, technical restrictions, and deadlines
We’re looking for someone who has:
a deep passion for cozy games and our vision of sharing a brighter future with gamers across the world,
demonstrated ability to independently manage and run an effective art production pipeline
substantial experience in people management and getting the best from their teams
a proactive and flexible working style, with a hunger to continue learning, and a growth mindset
a deep understanding of art fundamentals
working experience with industry-required software, in particular 3D art software and Unreal Engine.
Form of employment: Full-time permanent
