Hey there, we’re Qloud Games, a tight-knit indie studio based in Australia, but with a remote team hailing from all around the world. We’re currently working on Loftia, and we’re looking fora Senior Game Designer to join our team!
Loftia is a cozy take on the MMO genre, where players farm, build, and contribute to the growth of a sustainable, solarpunk world. We aim to mix the chill, relaxing atmosphere of existing titles such as Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing, with the social and community-oriented aspects of an online multiplayer game. The core theme is based around creating a sense of community by building a sustinable world, and through it, inspire a sense of hope for the future.

Your Responsibilities
contribute to the overall game vision, and define and guide all aspects of gameplay to ensure a high-quality, engaging, and fulfilling player experience.
drive systems, gameplay, and story design through all stages of development from conceptualization, prototyping, implementation, and testing.
collaborate with our cross-functional and agile team by assisting with roadmap planning and driving the development schedule. This includes collaborating across disciplines including engineering, design, and art to help realize high quality experiences.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
is motivated and passionate about the power of cozy games, and our vision of sharing a brighter future world with gamers across the world,
has enjoyed playing, and ideally designed, cozy games such as Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing,
has a proven track record designing systems & experiences for multiplayer games, especially those involving persistent worlds and large in-game communities,
has strong analytical and critical thinking skills, as well as a growth mindset with the desire to continuously learn more
is capable of working well remotely and collaboratively in a team setting
(bonus, not required) has experience working with, and prototyping in, Unreal Engine
Employment details
Form of employment: Full-time contract
Employment length: 12+ months, including a transition to full-time permanent after first 3 months if desired
Employment location: Fully remote (based in Australia is a bonus)
Start date: as soon as possible
Rate: $30-45 USD/hour depending on experience
